Spicy Beef Stir Fry

Serves 2

500g/1lb lean rump steak, trimmed and sliced into thin strips
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp Chinese 5 spice powder
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
1 red pepper, sliced
1 courgette (zucchini) sliced into rounds
16 mangetout
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
1 tsp red chillies, minced
1 small can water chestnuts, drained and halved

6 spring onions, chopped
120g/4 oz bean sprouts
sunflower oil

1 tsp toasted sesame oil

Cooking method:

Mix together chilli powder, 5 spice powder, soy sauce and honey
Add steak to mixture and marinate for at least 15 mins
Heat oil (sunflower + sesame) in large frying pan/wok
Fry steak until cooked to your liking, set aside
Stir fry pepper for 2 min
Add courgette (zucchini) and mangetout, stir fry for 2 min
Add garlic, steak, marinade, water chestnuts and red chillies, stir fry for 1 min
Stir in spring onion and bean sprouts
Serve immediately over noodles
